Symphony Photography Contest!

Calling all photographers! The Fort Collins Symphony is seeking photographs celebrating the vibrant activities Fort Collins has to offer.  Poudre Canyon, kayaking, Old Town, biking, Horsetooth, your favorite hideaway, we want to see them all!  The top 75 to 100 photographs will be featured in the Symphony’s March 5, 2016 Image-Ination concert where Westwater Arts Creative Director, Nicholas Bardonnay, will create an innovative photo-choreographed piece about Fort Collins set to the music of A Fiddler’s Fancy by Richard Meyer and Central Coach Special by Calvin Custer.

Symphonic photo-choreography is an innovative art form that engages audiences with evocative, photos, choreographed and performed live to selected works of classical music. As the Fort Collins Symphony performs, the audience will be treated to precisely cued images that fill an immense 440-square-foot, three-panel, panoramic screen with single, double, and triple image combinations, creating this multi-sensory experience.

Both amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit images reflecting Northern Colorado’s natural beauty, culture, and character. Photographic files should be horizontal in orientation and be at least 3,000 pixels wide by 2,000 pixels high in size. Photographers of the pieces selected will be recognized in the Symphony program. Those attending the concert will have the opportunity to vote on the top three photographs. The winners will each receive a framed copy of his/her photograph and will be recognized in the final program of the Season on May 14, 2016.

Please submit images via e-mail with the subject line “Fort Collins Images”, no later than November 5, 2015 to mkopco@fcsymphony.org. For more information, please contact Mary A. Kopco, Executive Director, at 970.482.4823.
