Musical Zoo 2018 – Orchestral Fun for Children

The Friends of the Symphony will hold its annual Musical Zoo on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Timberline Church, 2908 Timberline Road, Fort Collins. This exciting program of musical education and entertainment is designed especially for children 3-12 years of age and their families.  It features short instrumental and choral performances by youth groups in 2 auditoriums between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m.; a concurrent “Petting Zoo” where children can hold and “play” a wide variety of instruments; and, a Grand Finale performance by the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra of Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. in the main auditorium.  The Suite features various beloved fairy tales, such as Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Tom Thumb and Fairy Garden, in a program combining symphony, dance by the Canyon Concert Ballet, and theatrical narration.  Musical Zoo is often a child’s first contact with orchestral music and ballet, and provides a never forgotten experience. This afternoon of musical enjoyment is a fun family experience.

Tickets are $2.00 each for adults and children and can be purchased at the door beginning at 1:30 p.m. on the day of the event, or in advance at Boomer Music Co., the Learning Express and Clothes Pony stores in Fort Collins.
