Zack Niswender is an active freelance musician and teacher in the Northern Colorado Region. Zack plays with a variety of ensembles and is floored to be one of the newest members of the Fort Collins Symphony bass section. He is a full-time student at Colorado State University and is working to complete a Bachelor of Music in double bass performance and a pedagogy certificate for bass. He is currently the Principal bass of the CSU Symphony and the CSU Wind Symphony. He also plays in the Colorado Mahlerfest Orchestra. In 2018, he was the principal bass for the Colorado All-State Orchestra and was the assistant principal bass for the Western State Chamber Honor Orchestra. He competes in various solo competitions and in 2020 was a semi-finalist in the annual concerto competition at CSU. When not performing, he enjoys running a private studio in Loveland and teaches bass students at all levels. Zack also works with the Poudre School District working as a bass coach for middle school students. Zack would like to take this opportunity to thank his parents, brothers, and family for their undying support and understanding. He would also like to thank his old mentor David Saccardi for instilling in him a love of music and a passion for teaching and people.
