
Sarah Whitnah holds a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from St. Olaf College, and a master’s degree from the University of Denver where she studied with violinist Linda Wang.
During her time at St. Olaf College she toured both domestically and internationally with the St. Olaf Orchestra, serving as its Concert Master from 2007-2008. She continues her orchestral involvement serving as Principal 2 nd Violin of the Fort Collins Symphony, Assistant Principal 2nd Violin of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, acting Concertmaster of the Greeley Philharmonic, section violin with Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and core member of Sphere Ensemble.
In addition to orchestral playing, Whitnah is an active chamber musician, performing as the principal violinist for The Playground Ensemble, artists-in-residence at Colorado Metro State University, and 1st Violinist of the Red Rock Strings Quartet.
Ms. Whitnah has performed with notable pop artists including, Glee’s Daren Criss, Kygo, Icelandic band KALEO, Tina Guo, and Manheim Steamroller.
Additionally, Whitnah enjoys arranging music for string ensembles as well as composing original music, and she maintains a private teaching studio from her home in Westminster, CO, where she lives with her small dachshund Stormageddon.
