Sandra Tiemens

Sandra Tiemens hails from Rochester, Minnesota. She currently serves as a flutist and piccoloist of the Fort Collins Symphony. She is completing a 20-year military career as a flutist and piccoloist in The United States Air Force Academy Band. She graduated cum laude from Lawrence University with the Bachelors of Music degree in Flute Performance and the Bachelors of Arts degree in Mathematics. She also holds the Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of North Texas, where she was the winner of the 1997 Concerto Competition. She has been featured at four National Flute Association conventions and has participated in the Aspen and Texas Music Festivals. Sandra has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic, Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, and Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Sandra has performed as a soloist with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra, University of North Texas Chamber Orchestra, Sinclair Community Band, The United States Air Force Band of Flight, and The United States Air Force Academy Band. She has toured internationally as a member of The United States Air Force Academy Band.
