Ryann Aery – Violin

Violinist Ryann Aery began her studies at the age of 6 in Buffalo, NY. She has performed in venues such as The Morrison Center (ID), Lincoln Center (NYC), Central Park (NYC), Kleinhans Hall (Buffalo, NY), and Symphony Space (NYC), with the Boise Philharmonic, Opera Idaho, Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and NYU Symphony Orchestra. In 2014 she performed the Barber Violin Concerto at Carnegie Hall after winning 1st place in the AFAF international concerto competition. In 2020, Ryann won the Concerto Aria Competition playing the Brahms Violin Concerto at Boise State University.

Ryann has been chosen to perform in various violin master classes for renowned violinists including Monica Hugget, Donald Wilerstein, Janet Sung, and Bella Hiristova. She has received scholarships to prestigious summer festivals including the Bowdoin International Music Festival and Brevard Music Center, where she performed alongside world-renowned faculty and artists Noah Bendix-Balgley, William Preucil, Jonathan Carney, David Coucheron, and Bela Fleck.

Ryann received her Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Ithaca College while studying under Susan Waterbury. She spent her senior year studying at the Manhattan School of Music with Curtis Macomber. Ryann holds a Master of Music Performance degree at New York University where she studied with Associate Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Laurie Hamilton. She graduated summa cum laude in 2018. Ryann holds a second M.M. degree from Boise State University where she was a member of the Boise State Graduate Scholarship String Quartet. During her time in Boise, Ryann was a member of the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra and frequently performed with both Boise Baroque Orchestra and Opera Idaho. Ryann relocated to the Denver, CO area in 2022. She holds section violin positions with Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra and Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and frequently performs with various orchestras all around the state.

In addition to performing, Ryann has a strong passion for teaching. She has studied the pedagogy methods of Suzuki and Rolland with highly regarded educators and has been invited to coach intensive music workshops, competitions and sectionals throughout the country. She has been an adjunct music faculty member at New York University and has always enjoyed maintaining a large studio of students in the cities she has inhabited.
