
Dr. Peter Springberg is a long-term member of the Symphony Board, having been the President of the Board of Directors from 2004-2005. He is a retired Air Force physician specializing in Nephrology and a past medical center commander. He retired from the USAF in 1998 and moved to Fort Collins the following year with his late wife, Lt. Colonel (ret) Lynnette Jung (1940-2015).
As an enthusiast of classical music he quickly became a FCS season ticket holder, joined the Board in 2003 as a member, and then was Vice President before assuming the Presidency. He also headed the Capital Campaign for Bas Bleu, culminating in the pay-off of the theatre’s $1.5M mortgage in 2012. In February 2020 he announced a $50,000 matching grant for the Symphony to build its Reserve Fund. He teaches stewardship, which he terms “Donor Stroking,” to non-profit executive directors and development directors and is actively mentoring young physicians in medicine with emphasis on Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Springberg has a married daughter living in the Washington, DC area and a grandson who is an undergraduate at Northwestern University. He is a writer with five published short works, over 325 blog posts and has completed multiple drafts of two full-length books.
