
During Nancy Symes’ professional career, she served as the Vice President of Human Resources for two Federally Chartered Credit Unions in the Washington, DC area, ranging in size from $305M to $600M in assets and 85 – 120 employees. As a member of the Senior Management Team with both Credit Unions, she provided strategic leadership for the organizations’ human resource and training needs, as well as the management of daily HR functions.
Prior to joining the Credit Union industry, Ms. Symes provided Human Resource services to Ramapo State College in New Jersey and the University of Maryland. While living in the Washington, DC., area, she served for several years as a docent at the Folger Shakespeare Library on Capitol Hill.
Since relocating to Fort Collins, she has served as President of the Board of Directors of Project Self-Sufficiency, on the Executive Committee as Past President and is currently on the Board Development Committee. She volunteers at the Larimer County Food Bank and is also the Chair of the Board of Trustees and member of Church Council of First United Methodist Church of Fort Collins where she is a member of the Sanctuary Choir. Nancy joined the Fort Collins Symphony board in 2020. She views the quality and accessibility of the Fort Collins Symphony as a major contributor to the arts community in Fort Collins.
