Marty Marsh

Growing up, I remember listening to my father play his oboe, and I have loved that instrument and classical music ever since.  When we moved to Fort Collins over 30 years ago, my husband Scott and I bought season tickets to the Fort Collins Symphony, and we have attended every season since.  When I retired from the classroom, I joined the Symphony Education Committee where I have loved working with the Musical Zoo and PSD YES concerts and currently serve as secretary.

My educational background includes a BA in English and secondary education from Principia College in Illinois and an MS in counseling from the University of Houston.  I taught secondary English for 35 years and ended my career at Lesher Middle School where I taught for 23 years and still volunteer.

Giving back to our vibrant community is important to me.  I co-chair Fort Collins Reads, which for 20 years has brought in an author each fall for an all community read.  I have served on the Front Range Community College Foundation Board, was president of PRSEA (Poudre Retired School Employees Association), and served on the Poudre School District Foundation Board.

I am honored to support our symphony by serving on the Board.
