Kay has served twice as President of the Women’s Guild (now Friends of the
Symphony) and has served on the FCSA Board for several years in the 1980s and the 1990s. She returned to the board as an Emeritus in 2017. In 2020, Kay and fellow Emeriti graciously agreed to complete the terms of several board members who were unable to complete their terms due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kay is married to Larry Edwards, owner of The Light Center since its beginning in 1971. As such, they have supported several activities at CSU as well as several arts groups, and they were awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award, named for Jim and Nadine Henry, in 2015.
As Symphony Guild President in 2000, Kay established the Named Chair Endowment and has served as Endowment Chair for twenty years, achieving 34 named chairs and totaling just under $500,000, the earnings from which help support orchestra salaries on an annual basis.
Kay and Larry have four children and eight grandchildren.
