In the fall of 2009, an effort began to endow a chair in honor of Jeanise Brown, a Guild member who passed away in August 2009. Proceeds from a CD of Jeanise singing jazz standards, accompanied by Mark Sloniker on piano and Gene Libbea on bass, raised over $13,000 to endow this chair.
