David Lindstrom was raised in the east and educated at the University of Rochester (BA), Colgate (MA) and Penn State (PhD). He moved to Fort Collins in 1969 to teach English literature at CSU and, as it turned out, act as Assistant Chair of the English department under four different chairs. He and his wife, Peggy, raised two boys in a typical Colorado atmosphere of hiking, biking, skiing, and swimming. His love of music began with a grocery store promotion of a Library of the World’s Greatest Classical Music in about 1956. And he has been listening, attending, playing (piano, ukulele) and singing ever since—high school choirs, college Glee Club and Chapel Choir, the Larimer Chorale. He has sung tenor with the Chorale for over thirty years (alas, only a 2nd), serving repeatedly on its Board and as Board President.. He believes that music is spiritually and culturally powerful and is excited to be joining the Board of the Fort Collins Symphony.
