A funny thing happened on the way to the stage banner

Laughter is the best medicine, and sometimes music is just the medicine the heart and soul need.

Thus, it stands to reason that this combination of music and laughter may be just what the doctor ordered.  The Fort Collins Symphony’s “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Stage features humorous and inspirational stories as told by FCS musicians and Maestro Wes Kenney.  Your musicians have been invited to share stories about the unusual, funny, or stirring things that have happened to them as orchestral professionals: an unwelcome guest in the pit, a bouncing mute, and a broken G String are just a few of the stories you’ll enjoy.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Stage was originally put together to support our “Keep Us Playing” fund during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This fund supported our musicians, many of whom work entirely freelance, with monthly payments while we were unable to hold concerts and other in-person events. While the KUP campaign has ended, we invite you to continue to support your Fort Collins Symphony and its musicians by donating, volunteering, or supporting the FCS endowments.
