Come listen to these very talented musicians as they compete in the 53rd Annual Young Artist Competition sponsored by the Fort Collins Symphony. The competition attracts many of the finest young musicians from around the nation.
On Saturday, May 17, students between the ages of 13 and 18 will each perform a single movement from a standard concerto in either the Orchestral Instrument Division or the Piano Division. First place winners in each Division will each a $500 prize. Second place winners will receive a $300 prize.
On Sunday, May 18 Senior Semi Finalists will compete for the opportunity to perform with the Fort Collins Symphony on September 6 as finalists for the Harry and Adeline Rosenberg Prize of $6000 and a second place prize of $4000. These senior competitors represent many of the finest music schools in the country. Each senior competitor will perform an entire concerto with piano accompanist.
Saturday’s competitions will run from 1:00 pm through 3:00pm. Sunday’s Senior competition will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Stop by and check it out; you will be amazed at the performances of these young artists. Join the excitement as they compete for over $10,000 in prizes.
