Terese Kaptur, Executive Director

The Fort Collins Symphony proudly announces Terese Kaptur as our new executive director.

She was with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge for eight years, including five years as its executive director. While at NRO, she developed and grew the staff, budget, individual, corporate and grant income. Kaptur also advanced NRO's education and community engagement program.

In addition to holding executive director positions with several orchestras, Kaptur has served as an arts management consultant, worked as an artist manager, and held management positions with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Winston-Salem Symphony.

A composer and pianist, Kaptur holds a master of arts in music theory/composition from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

"The hiring of Terese Kaptur marks a new era for the Fort Collins Symphony," said Maestro Wes Kenney. "Her breadth of experience in the orchestra business is a critical component to the growth and stability of the FCSO in the region. Her music background and work within the state also gives her a unique perspective on the relationship of our musicians within Fort Collins and the greater Colorado arts community. Terese will have a major impact on the FCSO's visibility and operations throughout the state."

"I am thrilled to make my home in Fort Collins. The orchestra, community and environment all resonate with me in a very exciting and positive way," Kaptur said. "The Symphony's leadership's synergy -- combined with the potential for creative, responsible growth -- make this a special opportunity. I can't wait to get started."
